The above google draw showcases the drawing on the seven Matariki stars as my Te Reo Challenge set by Ms. Pryde. The topic of the Maori New Year was something new for me and I came to know a lot about the beliefs and celebration done on this day. I loved the thought that it is a day when the people forget their past and plan for their future. It is also a day when the family meets together and also tell others about the struggles and life of their ancestors. The best part is that it is a day when the people respect each others culture, traditions and beliefs. I would love to complete more challenges set by Ms. Pryde as I come to know about new topics.
It seems you have learnt a lot while researching Matariki. I too like that it is a time to forget the past and move forward. Do you know when the matariki stars can be viewed in the night sky?
ReplyDeleteKia ora Ms. Pryde,
DeleteI am glad you liked reading my blog post today and thank you for the amazing feedback. Yes, I knew that the Matariki stars can be visible in the night sky. The main and the mother star is called the Matariki which is surrounded by its seven daughters. Thank you for commenting on blog.
