Art Coloring Book: Step it up Challenge
LI: To use TEEL paragraphs and explain our color choice.

An art can be described by its elements, which means that every piece of art includes lines, shapes, form, space, colors, value and texture. An art can only be created when a person covers all the elements mentioned above, in the right technique therefore when all these features are included in a piece of art it makes it more descriptive. All the elements connect to each other and can be called incomplete if excluded or used in the wrong way.
An artwork starts with a line, which is a stroke or a continuous mark made on a surface. A line can either be straight or curved, bold or thin. When two or more lines are combined it forms a shape which is our second element. Shapes are of various types, on one hand it can be geometric, including circles, squares but on the other hand it can be natural, including an undefined structure of a monument or sculpture. When a shape is created with a three dimensional formation it creates a form. It means taking up space like sculptures, but it can also be an illusion as a drawing. Space is another element of art, which means the area taken by the object, in other words it can be called volume.
Color being the most demonstrative element in art can often depict space by filling the area. The primary or main colors include red, blue and yellow whereas the secondary colors include purple, green and brown. The primary colors are merged to form secondary colors making the artwork more radiant. Value resembles the darkness and brightness of colors which can be done by adding black and white respectively. A dark and bright value creates contrast, showcasing the difference and similarities. Adding two or more values forms a texture, which describes how the surface feels. It can either be rough or smooth, wet or dry, hard or soft.
Every piece of art created in this world includes all the seven elements making it more aesthetic. The artwork that I recreated also has the seven elements and it showcases ancient Egypt. The dull colors, descriptive shapes, color combinations and the layered texture explains everything. In conclusion, every piece of art is made by combining all the features, making it incomplete if one of the elements are left.

Writing: Why is it important to make wise choices?
LI: To structure and write an explanation.
Why is it important to make wise choices?
Making wise choices is about choosing between the two paths, one leads to success and the other leads to failure. At every moment in life you have to make choices, it depends on you if you want to follow the crowd or stand out to follow your thoughts. Always keep in mind that you are the most important person in your world, nobody else.
With this topic in mind an example that can explain it well is drugs. It is a substance that is highly addictive and can also ruin your life. Drugs are often taken due to peer pressure and depression. If you are in one of these situations, on one hand you have the option to talk to your caregivers or seek help in a positive way but, on the other hand you can take drugs and find happiness in it. This is an example that can happen to anybody in everyday life and it is important to look back and make sure you do what is right for you.
In this situation if you choose the right path you can overcome your problem. The people around you will also understand your problem and will make sure that you feel fine after some time, but if you choose the wrong path by taking drugs you do not overcome your problem, it just fades for a time. Once you are conscious you will find the problem coming back with a bigger mess which is the addiction to drugs. It is always in your hand and thus it is said to make a decision after thinking more than once.
As drugs can be very addictive and dangerous it is better to stay away from them and do what you think is right. In conclusion, I think it is important to know that you have the situation in your hands and you can either open it to loose control or tighten it to rule over. To wrap it up, I would say that situations like drugs are just an example, and you might deal with something that is even worse just make sure that you make wise choices and think about yourself before making the decision.
The above paragraph was made on the importance of making wise choices under the topic Writing. First we set a timer for five minutes and wrote our ideas on a piece of paper so it could help us when we are writing our paragraph. Then we wrote our essay and used the DRAFT method to make further changes. This acronym stand for Delete, Rearrange, Add, Fix and Talk. It was very helpful as we followed the steps by deleting the words, rearranging the sentences, adding new words, fixing our essay and talking to our friend for learning new ideas. I really enjoyed improving my writing skills and working with Fau.

Timeline: Vincent Van Gogh
LI: To create a timeline to show the life of Vincent Van Gogh.
Today Liletina, Afatia, Lily and me worked together to complete this task for Reading and Writing. We used smart searching skills and opinions to create a timeline on Vincent Van Gogh. We used the website "padlette" which helped us to create the summary of his life. We first worked as a team and searched interesting facts and information and wrote it on a piece of paper. We then used sites to learn more about him. Once we had collected the information we added it onto the timeline and used images to help the readers understand more. We learned a lot about his personal and professional life after completing this task.

The path of success isn’t easy
In the beautiful spring weather at time of sunset with pleasing blending colors at the back, a girl is stuck. She has been separated when trekking with her group since morning. With very little food left she has loosen hope to reach the peak and the path of success. Lying on a flat surface with many wounds on her leg while drinking her last sips of water, she thinks about the trip and regrets the fact of not listening to her parents. She thinks about the sorrowful future when she is found missing and then dead. Her heart falls to the ground and seeing the burning sun she gets the spirit to reach the top and stops thinking about everything.
The agony and the incentive could be seen in her eyes which became a turning part in the story. After climbing halfway to the top she finds a bottle which might have been dropped from someone’s backpack and thinks that faith is with her. Crying the tears of happiness she drinks the water and saves some for the rest of the journey. She forgets everything about the group and is only thinking with a rough goal in her mind to reach the peak and thrust the flag. The whole negativity in her mind changes positive until when she notices that the sun is going down and the red sky is turning darker and darker.
Not leaving a single hope of success she carries on. Feeling the pain in her body with a heart beating faster than something living on the earth, she then pauses for a moment and sees the sun going down completely. Near the top she throws the rope and attaches it to her waist belt and goes up, that is when she feels like the rope is going to tear apart. She pauses for a moment, takes deep breaths and calms herself down. With all her courage she reaches the top and raises her flag waving in the air. Feeling the joy of success and happiness she lit a fire and seeing the smoke a helicopter came for rescue. Now she is a famous traveler and is very famous for this incidence.

Writing: 5-7-10
LI: To use 5-7-10 to write creatively.
Lightning never strikes twice, does it?
That was the question that occupied their frightened minds as they crouched, huddling together, next the pile of dusty sacks in the base of the windmill.
All scared about the lives of their loved ones which are left behind in the village. Many thoughts in the mind and the main thing is what if the lightning strikes back when we reach the village? The windmill with many families from the village who ran to save their lives leaving all their important belongings. Some think that the decision was wrong as the windmill is made of hay and the lightning can also strike causing fire but many think that it is a better place rather than staying in the village. Many curious minds are thinking about what will happen next, will they even get their home back or do they have to start everything all over again. The children are frightened and sitting in the corner and waiting for the moment when they go back and play with their friends and have dinner with their family.
Well I have seen a thunderstorm, it was not really a good experience. We were in our house and seeing the ferocious winds and the strong lightning causing huge trees to fall which made my heart beat faster than it usually does. When I read the newspaper the next day I felt so bad and sad for the families who had lost homes as well as the ones they loved the most in the thunderstorm. I can't even imagine what it would be like to start a life again with no home, no money and the loss of their family members.
Thunderstorms are scary and the reason why they are caused is because of lightning as it leaves a small hole in the atmosphere called a channel giving a loud sound known as a thunder. Thunderstorms are then formed by the layers of warm and moist air causing heavy rains as well as strong winds. Well, I wish I never come in this type of situation ever again.

This week me and Lily worked together to do the 5-7-10 writing challenge. It is given this name because we first set a timer for five minutes and then write after the starter of the paragraph above. Then Lily and I set a timer for seven minutes each, and give a feedback on each others paragraph. Then we set a timer for ten minutes and complete our paragraph. Once we have completed our paragraph we use the draft method which stands for delete, rearrange, add, fix and talk. I really liked the different way of learning through the 5-7-10 strategy and it was very efficient.
