LI: To create a poster which showcases the new vocabulary I learnt.
The above poster is the fourth task for this week of the Summer Learning Journey that I have completed today. For this Kick Start activity I started by solving the questionnaire which helped me learn new vocabulary words in Te Reo Maori. The thing I liked the most about solving these question were the way they were asked. We were supposed to listen the recording first then guess the answer, in the end we would see, and check if it was right or wrong. I think this strategy was very efficient because it made me improve my listening and speaking skills at the same time. Once I learnt all the basics, I made my poster and I added one of the phrases that I learnt which means "it costs six dollars and ninety cents". Completing this task was very knowledgeable as I also came to know three flavors in an ice cream which were tiakarete, panama and rōpere (chocolate, banana and strawberry). I am very excited to do the second part of this activity as well.
Mōrena Sakshi, this is Elle from the Summer Learning Journey.
ReplyDeleteTino pai tō mahi e hoa! You have done a great job practicing te reo Māori and have made a terrific DLO of what you learned! I think it is awesome that you have attributed the original creator of the image and that you have added a detailed description of your process and what you learned!
$6.90 is a good price for a stacked up ice cream - did your character order your favourite flavour? Tiakarete? Rōpere? Or something else?
I’m so glad to hear that you liked learning and improving your listening and communication skills! I would love to learn how to order an ice cream in te reo Māori one day!
Keep up the great work Sakshi, I really enjoy reading your blog posts!
