ANZAC Tasks

LI:  To know about the ANZAC soldiers in detail

The above DLO showcases the tasks on the ANZAC soldiers. The tasks I have mentioned in my DLO are Morse Code, ANZAC Facts, Photo Montage and researches. Morse Coding was an interesting topic as I came to know about the various symbols used in it. I gained a lot of knowledge through the  research on the mother of the empire badge and the soldier's official portrait. I enjoyed making this presentation on Australian and New Zealand Army Cops.

You have have worked really hard at collating all these interesting facts about the ANZAC soldiers and the war. Will you be doing anything special to commemorate ANZAC day?

    1. Kia Ora Ms. Millward,
Thank you for your feedback. Tomorrow me and my family will come out at our driveway, but in our bubble at the dawn. I have also made posters and will paste it outside my window to commemorate ANZAC Day

  2. Hi Sakshi.

I thought you might like this poem about poppies...

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields.

    1. Good morning Ms. Collins. It really is a very fascinating poem and I loved it a lot. It is a very creative poem and has told about the poppies in a very creative way.

    2. Hi Sakshi,

Poppies are herbaceous annual, biennial or short-lived perennial plants. Some species are monocarpic, dying after flowering. In the temperate zones, poppies bloom from spring into early summer. The plant can be over one meter (3.3 feet) tall with flowers up to 15 centimetres (6 inches) across.

    3. Good afternoon Ms. Collins,
I never knew so much about poppies even though I have one in my garden. The poppies are similar to the hibiscus which can also be called rose mallow. Thank you for sharing such useful information on the poppies that I never knew. I would love to gain more information from you.
