Home Learning: Harbour Bridge

LI: To gain knowledge about Harbour Bridge

The above DLO showcases the presentation of my research on the Harbour Bridge. The best activity was the bonus activity as I came to know a lot about the New Zealand Harbour Bridge as well as the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The most interesting fact was that a huge amount of money is invested to make both the bridges. I gained a lot of knowledge at the end of this DLO. I loved to complete this Home Learning Task on the Auckland Harbour Bridge.

  1. The Auckland Harbour Bridge is an eight-lane motorway bridge over the Waitematā Harbour in Auckland, New Zealand. It joins St Marys Bay on the Auckland city side with Northcote on the North Shore side. It is part of State Highway 1 and the Auckland Northern Motorway. The bridge is operated by the NZ Transport Agency. An open day had been held, when 106,000 people had walked across. Either three or four men had been killed by accidents during construction, and the names of three of them are recorded on a memorial plaque underneath the bridge at the Northcote end. AJ Hackett have transformed one of Auckland’s most recognisable landmarks into its biggest adventure playground. Not only can you climb to the top of the Auckland Harbour Bridge, but you can also jump from it attached to a Bungy cord. You can even to choose to dip your head in the water. You don’t have to. But you probably should.

    1. Good afternoon Ms. Collins,
Thank you so much for commenting on my blog. I never knew so much about the Harbour bridge. I didn't even know that the people who died during the construction had their names written on a memorial plaque.Thank you for sharing such useful information about the Auckland Harbour Bridge with me Ms. Collins. I would love to gain more knowledge from you.
