LI: To create a screencastify and explain how to encrypt and decrypt a pigpen code.
The above screencastify is my Step it up challenge and thirteenth task for the Summer Learning Journey that I completed today. In this screencastify, I have recorded myself explaining more about pigpen cipher and how it is used. I have included its meaning, when and how it was used in the past as well as an example of decoding a sentence. The fun part in this activity was that now I know how to write my secrets in a way that only I can understand and nobody else can read it. In this activity I found challenging to record myself several times because I messed up the script, as it was too long and I wanted to make it well explained. I think this activity was very knowledgeable because I came to learn something I really didn't know about and this can be useful at times. I loved completing this challenge and am excited for the next task.
Kia Ora Sakshi,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Zana and I am a blog commenter for the Summer Learning Journey.
You did an awesome job stepping up your post and creating this screencastify. I found it very informative and helpful, you explained the background and origin of pigpen code, how it works and gave a tutorial on how to decode it. This is very helpful and I hope this teaches your readers some new information and some fun ways to create codes!
Did you have a go at any of the other codes in the activity like morse or playfair? Morse code is probably my favourite, it is not the easiest to memorise but it is a great way to communicate quietly!
Keep up the great work and I hope to see more of your posts over the summer.
Ngā mihi nui,

Kia ora Ms. Walker,
DeleteThank you for commenting on my Summer Learning Journey blog post again! I am glad you liked my work and thank you for the positive feedback as well. Yes, I have learnt about Morse Code, Playfair Cipher and Atbush Cipher. I agree, Morse code was one of the codes that were hard to learn for me as well. My favourite code among all of them was the pigpen cipher because I liked how they used the table of tic tac toe and I just found the idea unique! Can you translate this message in Morse Code?
